Saturday, September 19: 12:00pm-11:00pm
Vespers Service will be celebrated at 5:00pm in the Cathedral. Everyone
is welcomed.
Sunday, September 20: 12:00pm-9:00pm
Matins will be served in the Cathedral at 9:00am. The Hierarchal Divine
Liturgy will be celebrated at 10:00am. His Grace, Bishop IRINEU Duvlea
will officiate the service, assisted by Cathedral clergy. We sincerely
encourage anyone interested to join us for this central service of the
Orthodox Christian Church. Services are offered in both English and
Romanian languages.
LOCATION
Saint George Romanian Orthodox Cathedral and Cultural Center.
Centrally located in Southfield, at 18405 West Nine Mile Rd, 48075. The
Cathedral is just west of the Nine Mile / Lodge Fwy service drive.

ADMISSION & PARKING
We are doing our best to make this annual fundraiser as affordable as
possible for the general public and families alike. Admission is only
$5.00 for adults, $3.00 for children (ages 6-12) and FREE for children 5
years and younger.
Parking is FREE in both the Cathedral parking lots and the
adjacent lot (owned by Kaufman Funeral Home). If other parking is
necessary, attendants will direct you to nearby, off-street parking
options. We ask that all patrons be courteous and respectful of the
Cathedral's property and any adjacent properties. Trash containers will
be available for your convenience.
OTHER
ATTRACTIONS
Other attractions include a special museum & costume display;
guided tours of the Cathedral interior; "Buna's Bakery",
filled with an assortment of fresh, homemade pastries, nut-rolls and
more;
Our
Children's play area is sure to be a hit with the little ones!
Purchase a wristband that will give your child unlimited access to our
giant slide and moon bouncer, face-painting, and
more. Also, we are excited
to welcome live ponies and horses on Sunday afternoon! Children
and adults can purchase rides for a small fee and take a trip around the
yard on a real horse or pony! Be sure to visit our gift-shop... purchase books on a
variety of Orthodox and Cultural topics, as well as bibles, crosses,
icons for your home, prayer ropes, music CDs, etc. Don't forget to pick
up a special souvenir t-shirt with popular Romanian phrases like
"Got Tuica", "Everybody Loves a Romanian Girl" and more, when you visit
our AROY (young adult organization) t-shirt shop!
New
this year, we are expanding the venue with a select group of artists and
vendors who will display their work and give you the opportunity to make
purchases from
popular brands like "Beijo" hand-bags and MaryKay cosmetics,
as well as unique works of art, jewelry and more in the marketplace
area! While checking out the vendor booths, be sure to order freshly
prepared "clatite" (romanian-style crepes), a hot cup of
coffee or try one of our famous
"placinte cu branza" (fresh doughnut with
cheese filling) at the outdoor "Gradina
Cafe"!
Learn about the organizations and opportunities of life within
the Cathedral parish. We are happy to answer questions about
faith-related issues, as well as explain what parish auxiliaries such as
the Cathedral Choir, Ladies Auxiliary, Adult Education program, etc
offer! Commit yourself to enriching your child's life by enrolling
them
in our Sunday School program, or speak with Fr Laurence Lazar,
the Dean of the Cathedral about becoming a parish member!
