EXHIBIT of ROMANIAN ICONS ON GLASS
Metes Hall | 20 May 2006
THE
EXHIBIT OF ICONS ON GLASS
was a
lovely and wonderfully unique evening. For the all-too-brief showing
Metes Hall was transformed into the perfect gallery for the 31 beautiful
icons displayed. Rev Dr Remus Grama of Cleveland gave a very informative
opening talk on the history of such works, and of those on display,
created by +Fr Timotei Tohaneanu at the Brancoveanu Monastery in
Transylvania. As those in attendance milled about the gallery throughout
the evening to study the icons, Bianca Hotea’s piano playing was enjoyed
by all, as were hors d’oeuvres and wine. We look forward to future shows
hosted by the Cathedral Cultural and Heritage Committee.
