to the
soul of your servant who fell asleep in the promise of resurrection,
Thursday, October 19, 2006.
May the Lord our God receive his soul in peace, rewarding him for his
faithful service as parish priest of: St Nicholas Church, Regina,
Canada; St George Church, Canton, Ohio; and (our) St George Cathedral;
and, in retirement, as Chairman of diocesan Missions, and interim priest
of Annunciation Church, Montreal. May his children and grandchildren
find comfort in knowing of the love and joy he shared with so many
during his priestly ministry. (Born, February 15, 1924; Ordained Priest,
November 10, 1963; Dean of St George Cathedral, September 1, 1983 -1991;
Elevated to Archpriest, 1991; Departed this life, October 19, 2006)

THE
FUNERAL SERVICES
of Retired
Dean Fr Tofan, took place Monday-Wednesday at the Cathedral with
hundreds of faithful, three dozen priests and deacons, the Archbishop
and Vicar Bishop taking part. The Memorial Meal was offered by the
Cathedral Parish as a loving gesture of appreciation for its former
priest. We thank everyone who assisted in any way during the days of the
funeral; and pray that the soul of Father will be welcomed in Paradise.
